Suspected IED detected on Sopore–Bandipora road, area cordoned off

Sopore, Dec 28: A suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected on the roadside along the Sopore–Bandipora road near the Mangnipora Kehmah road on Sunday, triggering security measures in the area.

A police officer said the area has been cordoned off by Police Bandipora along with security forces of the 27 Assam Rifles.

“The general public is advised to avoid the area and cooperate with the authorities,” the officer said, adding that a bomb disposal team is present at the spot.
