Rajouri, Jul 23: The civil administration and Police on Wednesday asked people to stay away from all water bodies and landslide-prone areas amid predictions for rainfall and apprehension of flood and landslides.
“Prediction for heavy rainfall has already been made by respective departments and there is apprehension of flood, flash flood, landslides, and shooting stones,” Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri Abhishek Sharma said.
He said people had to remain aware of the situation and follow all advisories issued by the authorities.
The DC also urged to maintain a distance from all water bodies to avoid loss of lives.
He referred to a rescue operation carried out by the authorities at Badala Mang, Rajouri, on Wednesday after a nine-year-old boy got trapped in floodwater.
SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar said, “We have kept our staff on alert, but it is people who have to remain aware in all aspects.”
