SSP Ghulam Jeelani Wani, DC Ayushi Sudan Among J&K Awardees of COAS Commendation for I-Day 2025 – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has announced the prestigious COAS Commendation Cards for Independence Day 2025, honouring personnel from the armed forces, police, and civil administration for their exceptional service. Among the distinguished awardees are two prominent officers, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghulam Jeelani Wani and recently transferred Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ayushi Sudan.

The recognition comes as part of Op Sindoor, under which a comprehensive list of honourees from across the country has been released. SSP Ghulam Jeelani Wani has been lauded for his outstanding leadership in maintaining law and order in the strategically sensitive border district, while DC Ayushi Sudan has been commended for her exemplary role in public administration, developmental initiatives, and coordination during critical situations.

In addition to them, several other officers and personnel from Jammu & Kashmir have been honoured with the COAS Commendation Card. From the Jammu & Kashmir Police besides Ghulam Jeelani Wani the awardees, as per Alfaaz – The Words, include SSP Sahil Sarangal (IPS), SSP Gurinder Pal Singh (IPS). From the Civil Administration besides Ayushi Sudan includes DC Minga Shepa (IAS) (who incidentally is Sudan’s husband) . From Armed Forces/NCC linked to J&K include; Hav Ishtiyaq Yousuf Dar – JAK LI, 3 J&K Bn NCC and NK Balbinder Kumar – JAK LI, IHQ of MoD (Army) Camp.

Notably, the COAS Commendation Cards are awarded annually to individuals who demonstrate exceptional devotion to duty, courage, and significant contributions to national security and service delivery.
