SRINAGAR: Maximum temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir recorded a significant dip on Tuesday, with most stations reporting below-normal values, according to data compiled by Kashmir Weather.
In the Kashmir region, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 21.0°C, which is 9.1°C below normal for this time of the year. Qazigund registered 20.2°C (7.8°C below normal), Pahalgam 19.7°C (5.8°C below normal), Kupwara 21.9°C (9.0°C below normal), Kokernag 20.7°C (6.9°C below normal), and Gulmarg 15.0°C (6.2°C below normal).
In the Jammu region, the summer capital Jammu recorded 30.6°C, which is 3.4°C below normal. Other stations also recorded below-normal temperatures: Banihal at 23.5°C (5.4°C below normal), Batote 22.0°C (4.6°C below normal), Bhaderwah 25.6°C (4.8°C below normal), and Katra 25.8°C (4.9°C below normal).
In Ladakh, Leh recorded a high of 28.0°C, while Kargil registered 27.8°C.
The cooler-than-usual temperatures are attributed to prevailing weather conditions and recent rainfall activity across the region.
