Special trains run between Katra-Srinagar amid highway closure

Banihal, Jan 27: Amid inclement weather, suspension of flights and closure of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, Northern Railway’s Jammu Division on Tuesday operated special trains between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar, enabling hundreds of stranded passengers to reach their destinations.

Accordingly, two special reserved trains carrying hundreds of passengers was operated Tuesday between Katra and Srinagar.

Railway authorities said the service will continue for Tuesday and today Wednesday to facilitate stranded and waiting passengers.
