South Kashmir: Forces Bust Multiple Militant Hideouts During Searches

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Monday carried out a joint Search and Destroy Operation (SADO) in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, leading to the busting of multiple old militant hideouts.

A top police officer said that the operation was launched jointly by JK Police and 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in the Nengripora forest area of DH Pora. During the search, militant hideout was busted, from which a gas cylinder and a camouflage uniform were recovered.

In a separate operation, two old hideouts were also discovered and destroyed by Security forces DK Marg between Ahmadabad and Nengripora forests. Items including gas cylinders and clothes were recovered from the sites.

The recoveries indicate past militant activity in the area. The security forces have intensified searches to ensure the area is fully sanitized. (KNC)
