
Srinagar, Apr 13: A police case has been filed against a senior lecturer posted in north kashmir’s Sopore town after a girl student accused him of harassment, even as the teacher has been suspened with inquiry ordered into the matter.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore, Iftikhar Talib, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the teacher has been booked and an investigation has been set into motion after girl student’s allegations.
Meanwhile, Directorate of School Education Kashmir suspended the lecturer with immediate effect while inquiry into his conduct has also been ordered.
Joint Director North has been appointed as the inquiry officer to conduct a time bound probe and has been directed to submit the report within 15 days.
Following the allegations, students held a protest in Sopore town demanding strict action against the lecturer.
