Social Audit of ICDS Centres Conducted in Kalaroos – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: As part of district wide initiative, a social audit of Integrated Child Development Services Poshan project centres was conducted across several panchayats of Kalaroos on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Shrikant Balasaheb Suse.

As part of the exercise, Tehsil Supply Officers from different tehsils, including Tehsil Supply Officer Sogam Gulzar Ahmad Wani, along with the ICDS Poshan Project Supervisor Kalaroos, carried out inspections of ICDS centres within their respective jurisdictions.

The audit focused on the distribution of supplementary nutrition, verification of attendance registers, assessment of infrastructure, scrutiny of official records, and review of services under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. The objective was to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of welfare schemes under the ICDS framework.

Officials said the Deputy Commissioner has directed strict monitoring and regular audits to ensure welfare schemes are implemented as per guidelines and that no eligible beneficiary is denied entitlements.

During the visits, audit teams interacted with beneficiaries and local residents to assess service delivery at the ground level.

Officials said similar audits will be extended to other areas of the district to strengthen governance, improve service delivery, and enhance public trust in the system.
