SMVDU Faculty Assistant Professor Posts 2025 – Apply For Teaching Vacancies

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Kakryal, Katra has released an official notification inviting applications for the posts of Assistant Professor on temporary and contractual basis. A total of 19 vacancies are open across various schools and disciplines including Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics, Architecture, Business, and more.

As per the notification issued by SMVDU, the appointments are purely temporary. The minimum qualifications vary by subject but generally include a relevant Master’s or Doctoral degree with NET or equivalent. Candidates with specialization or Ph.D. as per post requirements will be preferred. The salary will be as per university norms.

Eligible candidates can submit their online application through the university website www.smvdu.ac.in starting from 09 July 2025. The last date to apply online is 29 July 2025. Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates interested in applying can check the eligibility criteria, age limit, application fee, and other essential details below.

For Engineering Disciplines (Computer Science, Electronics): B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class. Ph.D. is desirable. Candidates with Ph.D. after Bachelor’s with GATE/GPAT/CEED are also eligible.

For Design: Bachelor’s degree or 4-year Diploma in Design/Fine Arts/Architecture or B.E./B.Tech. with first class. Plus Master’s or equivalent PG Diploma in relevant disciplines. Minimum 2 years professional design experience is mandatory.

For Architecture: Bachelor’s in Architecture with 60% marks and 3 years experience OR Bachelor’s and Master’s in Architecture with 60% marks and 1 year experience. Valid CoA registration is mandatory.

For Business: Bachelor’s in any discipline and Master’s in MBA/PGDM/CA/ICWA/M.Com with first class and 2 years professional experience. Ph.D. preferred. Preference for specialization in Finance, Marketing, SCM, Analytics, HR.

For Mathematics, Dogri, Hindi, Chemistry: Master’s with 55% marks in relevant subject and NET or Ph.D. as per UGC norms. Candidates who completed Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, must meet specific published research and presentation requirements to be exempt from NET.
