Srinagar: The Office of the Administrator, Associated Hospitals, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, has launched a drive to identify and clear unclaimed or surplus lockers occupying hospital corridors at GMC Srinagar and SMHS Hospital.

A circular issued by the administration directs all faculty members, heads of departments, paramedical staff, and students to label their lockers with their name, designation, and code by November 14, 2025. The initiative aims to streamline space management and ensure orderly use of hospital and college corridors.

Following the deadline, inspections will be carried out by Medical Superintendents of SMHS Hospital, Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) of respective floors, and the Estates-cum-Transport Officer of GMC Srinagar to identify and remove any unclaimed or unidentified lockers.

The notice warns that no claims will be entertained for lockers left unlabeled beyond the specified date. It also instructs Section Officers, Estates Officer, and Accounts Section not to process Last Pay Certificates (LPCs), No Objection Certificates (NOCs), or service books for transferring employees until their lockers are properly handed over.
