Rajouri, Jun 27: Residents of Dandkote village in Rajouri have expressed their frustration over the lack of proper drainage system alongside the recently constructed road in the area.
The residents said the earth cutting work road was being executed by Public Works Department (PWD) as nodal executing agency.
“Despite repeated pleas to the authorities, no action has been taken to establish proper water channels and drains. Due to this the rainwater gets accumulated on the roads and inundates their homes, causing damage as well,” the residents said.
The affected families claim to be spending sleepless nights during rainy days and struggle to cope with the situation.
“During the last five days, we shifted to the houses of our neighbours amid fear houses getting collapsed due to flood water,” the local said.
The residents urged the department to take immediate action to address the issue and provide relief to them.
“We hope that our concerns will be taken seriously, and measures will be taken to prevent further damage to their homes and properties,” the locals said.
