SKUAST Kashmir Faculty Of Horticulture JRF Position In Food Science And Technology 2025

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir has invited applications from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Division of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Horticulture. The position is offered under the Department of Science and Technology-sponsored project titled “Circular economy approach to valorize the walnut shell (a major by-product of walnut industry of J&K).”

As mentioned in the official notice, this position is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project. The selected candidate will be engaged at the Shalimar Campus of SKUAST-Kashmir, Srinagar. Interested applicants are required to submit their application in the prescribed format along with relevant documents by or before 20 October 2025 up to 4:00 PM.

Candidates meeting the eligibility conditions should send a hard copy of the filled application form, detailed CV, and supporting certificates related to academic qualifications, experience, NET/GATE, publications, patents, or books to the office of the undersigned at the Division of Food Science & Technology, SKUAST-K Shalimar campus. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The interview date and time will be communicated through email.

Important Dates:
Applications for the JRF post will remain open until 20 October 2025. The notification was issued on 8 October 2025 under notice number AU/FST/DST/25/02.

Vacancy Details:
The position available is Junior Research Fellow (01 Post) under the DST-sponsored project. The monthly emoluments for the position are Rs. 37,000 plus 9% HRA. The appointment will be temporary and linked to the duration of the project.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess M.Tech. or M.Sc. in Food Technology, Processing and Food Engineering, Post-Harvest Management, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Natural Products Chemistry, or Pharmacognosy. In addition, candidates must have qualified NET/GATE or other accredited examinations, or hold a Ph.D. in the relevant field. The upper age limit is 35 years, which can be relaxed up to 40 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and for women.
