Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu has released Advertisement (II) inviting applications for temporary positions under the Adhoc Project “National Soil Mapping Programme (NSMP)” (SLUSI). The recruitment is for Young Professional I and Young Professional II posts in the Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, SKUAST-Jammu.

There are two vacancies available under this project. Interested candidates must submit their applications in the prescribed format before 09 March 2026. The interview is scheduled on 10 March 2026. Candidates are advised to check the qualifications, experience and other conditions before applying.

Eligibility Criteria of SKUAST Jammu Vacancies


Post Educational Qualification Experience / Other Requirements
Young Professional II Master’s degree in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics / Geospatial Applications or similar Minimum 3 years experience in handling or application of remote sensing and GIS software or data (excluding degree period). Experience in use of R software. Application of Machine Learning models. Experience in GIS and geospatial applications.
Young Professional I Master’s degree in Remote Sensing & GIS / Geoinformatics / Geospatial Applications or similar Experience in handling or application of remote sensing and GIS software or data.

Terms and Conditions


The engagement is purely ad hoc and temporary. The initial appointment will be for six months. It may be extended based on performance and availability of funds.

The selected candidates will have no right to claim regular appointment in the university or funding agency. The engagement will end automatically after completion of the project or if performance is not satisfactory.

Candidates must produce original documents at the time of interview. No TA or DA will be paid for attending the interview. Disputes, if any, will be subject to the courts at Jammu.
