SKIMS Faculty forum holds condolence meeting

Srinagar, Mar 29: The SKIMS Faculty Forum, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) organized a condolence meeting at the Institute’s Main Auditorium to condole the sad demise of the father of Prof (Dr) Waqar-un-Nisa, Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Head of Obstetric and Gynaecological Anaesthesiology at SKIMS.

The meeting was chaired by the Director of SKIMS and Ex-Officio Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Professor Mohammad Ashraf Ganie. He expressed profound grief and paid rich tributes to the deceased, while conveying heartfelt condolences to Prof. (Dr.) Waqar-un-Nisa, Prof. Ayaz K. Farooqui, Dr. Farah, Dr. Manzoor A. Latoo, and the entire bereaved family.

Dean of the Medical Faculty at SKIMS, Prof Showkat Ahmad Gurcoo, also expressed his condolences and sympathies to the grieving family.The gathering was attended by the Medical Superintendent, Professor Farooq A. Jan, senior faculty members, postgraduate and postdoctoral students, and staff from various departments of SKIMS, all of whom expressed solidarity and support to the bereaved family. The meeting was convened by Dr. Talib Khan, Senior Consultant and Additional Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, and Executive Secretary of the SKIMS Faculty Forum.The proceedings began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by Fateha and collective prayers. Faculty members, residents, and staff also visited the bereaved family in person to offer their condolences.In a formal statement, the forum prayed, “May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the departed soul, grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bestow sabr-e-jameel upon the bereaved family.”
