
Srinagar: As part of its intensified crackdown on drug trafficking, Shopian Police have attached a residential property allegedly acquired through narcotics trade.
The property, a single-storey house valued at ₹15,44,523 with a plinth area of 1,258 sq. ft. under Survey No. 498 min, belongs to Mukhtar Ahmad Naikoo, a resident of Meemander, Shopian. Investigations revealed that the house had been acquired using funds generated from the sale of illegal drugs.
The accused has a history of involvement in narcotics-related offences and has been named in multiple NDPS cases, including FIR No. 41/2016 and FIR No. 27/2020 registered at Police Station Shopian.
The attachment proceedings were executed in the presence of a police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar, and Chowkidar, ensuring adherence to all legal formalities.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, Shopian Police urged the public to cooperate in the fight against the narcotics menace by sharing any information related to such activities.
