Shopian Celebrates Republic Day with Ceremonial Parade – Alfaaz – The Words

Shopian: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across Shopian district with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on Monday. The main function was held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian, where District Development Council Chairperson Bilqees Jan unfurled the National Flag alongside Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, JKPS.

The Chief Guest inspected the ceremonial parade, which was commanded by Probationary IPS officer Chaitanya Giri. Contingents from District Police Shopian, Lady Police, CRPF 14th Battalion, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, NCC cadets from Degree College Shopian, and students from local schools participated, demonstrating discipline and coordination.

The celebrations included cultural programmes presented by students and youth clubs from various institutions in the district. Performances featuring patriotic songs and dances were witnessed by a large gathering of residents.

The event concluded with a prize distribution and felicitation ceremony. Certificates of appreciation and awards were presented to students and other participants for their outstanding performances and contributions to the Republic Day celebrations.

Republic Day functions were also held at tehsil, block, and institutional levels across Shopian, reflecting widespread participation and a strong sense of national pride.
