Ramban, Mar 17: The holy occasion of Shab-e-Qadar was observed with deep religious reverence and devotion across the three districts of the Chenab region—Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban.
Devotees thronged mosques in large numbers and offered night-long prayers, marking the sacred night believed to fall on the 27th day of the holy month of Ramadan. The night holds immense significance in Islam, as it is believed that the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) on this occasion.
Special congregational prayers were held at major mosques in Doda, Bhadarwah, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal, Gool, Batote, Chanderkote, Ramsu, and several other areas of the region. Worshippers gathered in large numbers to seek forgiveness, divine blessings, and mercy from Almighty Allah.
Religious scholars and Islamic clerics (Ulema) delivered sermons highlighting the importance of Shab-e-Qadar and the teachings of Islam, urging people to follow the path of righteousness and compassion.
Elaborate arrangements were made by mosque management committees across the region to facilitate devotees. People started assembling in mosques soon after offering Taraweeh prayers, continuing their (prayers) throughout the night.
The atmosphere across the region remained spiritually charged, with chants, prayers, and recitations echoing from mosques as devotees observed one of the holiest nights in the Islamic calendar.
