Security Forces Recover Arms, IEDs in Jammu Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Security forces on Thursday recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a joint search operation in the Akabr Gali area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that a joint team comprising personnel from the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation in the area. During the operation, a significant quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered.

The cache includes two pistols, 24 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), six grenades, two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and an electronic set.

The recovery is believed to have averted a potential security threat in the region. Further investigations are underway, and additional details are expected to follow. (GNS)
