Security Forces Intensify Search Operations After Brief Encounter in Rajouri | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Security forces have intensified search operations and reinforced cordons in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district after a brief encounter with suspected militants in the Dorimal–Gambhir Moghla belt on Saturday.

Additional troops have been deployed in the area as joint teams continue extensive searches in the forested terrain to trace suspected militants believed to be hiding in the region. The operation was expanded following intelligence inputs indicating the presence of two to three militants in the area.

Officials said contact was established during an intelligence-based operation, leading to a brief exchange of fire before the suspects managed to slip away, prompting continued combing operations.

Separately, security forces also launched a search operation in the Gudha Brahmana area of Akhnoor in Jammu district after receiving reports of suspicious movement.
