Security forces intensify area domination, anti-sabotage operations in Rajouri

Rajouri, Dec 20: In a bid to further strengthen the security apparatus in Rajouri district, security forces have launched a massive area domination and anti-sabotage operation across the region, officials said.

The intensified exercise is aimed at ensuring heightened vigilance and preventing any potential terror-related activities in this sensitive border district.

Officials said that such anti-sabotage exercises are a routine but crucial part of the security strategy, aimed at foiling any terror plot and maintaining peace and normalcy in the district. The operations are being carried out with utmost caution, keeping in view the safety of civilians.

As part of the operation, surprise search and checking drives are being conducted at multiple locations of public importance, including busy bus stands and other crowded areas.

The focus remains on enhancing area sanitisation and maintaining a strong security presence to instil a sense of safety among the public.

Bomb Disposal Squads, along with sniffer dogs, have been deployed during the operation to thoroughly check suspicious spots and ensure that no explosive material is present.

The teams are conducting meticulous searches to detect any possible improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bombs or other hazardous materials.

Earlier, Indian Army and Police’s SOG had launched a massive Anti Terror operation in areas of Thanamandi sub division of Rajouri district where Army’s 49 RR and SOG recovered a consignment of four grenades that were kept hidden in a location for a possible terror strike.
