
Jammu, Feb 22: The Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu have conducted searches at R S Pura in Jammu in connection with a visa fraud case, following the issuance of a warrant by the competent court.
The action was taken on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in connection with FIR No 10/2025 registered under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC at Police Station Special Crime Wing Jammu.
“The search was carried out at the residence of the main accused, Kartik Choudhary, son of Gurnam Singh, a resident of Purana Pind near SBI Bank in R S Pura. The operation was conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and local police officials,” Police said.
According to officials, the accused allegedly duped several residents of R S Pura tehsil by collecting substantial sums of money on the false promise of arranging work visas for their family members to travel abroad.
“While the initial amount involved in the fraud was reported to be smaller, the alleged swindling has now risen to approximately Rs 90 lakh, as more complainants have approached the agency during the course of investigation,” Police said, adding, “Special Crime wing is carrying out a thorough and impartial probe to gather further evidence and identify any additional individuals who may have been involved in the offence.”
The search operation was led by Inspector Kali Charan, Investigating Officer, SCW Jammu, under the overall supervision of Sanjay Parihar, SSP, Special Crime Wing, Crime Branch Jammu.
