Scores of workers from Habba Kadal join PDP

Srinagar, Feb 17: Scores of workers from National Conference from Habba Kadal joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during a joining programme held at the party headquarters on Monday.

As per a part press release, the programme was held in the presence of District President Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, Former State Secretary and Constituency Incharge Habba Kadal Arif Laigroo, Spokesperson Zuhaib Mir, District President Women’s Wing Sara Nayim, Sheikh Sabah, Zone Secretary Bilal Naika, Ward President Shakeel Ahmed and Bilal Ahmed.  The event was organised by Zone President Habba Kadal Tufail Bhat.

Addressing the gathering, Abdul Qayoom Bhat said, “The growing support for the PDP in Habba Kadal clearly reflects the public’s disappointment with the false promises of the NC. People are joining PDP with hope and confidence because they believe only PDP can genuinely raise their issues.”

Speaking on the occasion, Zuhaib Mir said, “The continuous joining of workers into the PDP is a clear indication that the people of Srinagar are seeking a credible and people-centric alternative. The NC government has failed to address the basic concerns of the common man.”

Speaking to the media, Arif Laigroo said that the people of Srinagar are “fed up with the present regime” as no promises made by the NC government have been fulfilled. He said the residents of Habba Kadal have appreciated the recent public outreach programme conducted by Mehbooba Mufti in Shahre Khaas, where locals apprised her of the pressing issues faced by the people of downtown Srinagar.
