Scheduled Power Shutdowns Announced Across Several Areas in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across multiple districts in south and central Kashmir during the first half of November 2025 to facilitate essential maintenance works on key transmission lines and grid stations.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, power supply from the 132/33 KV Grid Station Kulgam will remain affected on November 1 and 3 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. As a result, the receiving stations at Kulgam, Ashmuji, Kilam, Devsar, Chambgund, Yaripora, Behibagh, Nillow, Rambhama, Chawalgam, D.H. Pora, and Nagam will remain off, impacting adjoining areas including Ahmadabad, Aharbal, Redwani, Mohammadpora, D.K. Marg, Pahloo, Gasran, and Sangus.

Similarly, shutdowns have been scheduled for the 33 KV Nowbugh–Nagam and Nowbugh–Chadoora lines on November 6 between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM. The outage will affect receiving stations at Char-I, Char-II, Hafroo, Nagam, Chadoora, Panzan, Ranger, and Wathora, leading to disruption of supply in Charar-i-Sharief, Kakawring, Yousmarg, Nagam, Chadoora Town, Wahtoora, and adjoining villages.

Further, on November 9, shutdowns will be observed on several 33 KV lines emanating from Lassipora, including Lassipora–Reshipora, Lassipora–Landoora, Lassipora–Pulwama, Lassipora–Keegam, Buildtech/SIDCO-II, and Lassipora–SIDCO IGC lines. Power will remain off from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM, affecting the receiving stations at Reshipora, Pulwama, Keegam, Buildtech IGC, and others, covering wide areas such as Zainapora, Pulwama Town, Rajpora, Watchi, Rahmoo, Machpuna, and IGC Lassipora.

Additionally, a shutdown on the 33 KV Pampore–Wagoora line is scheduled for November 4, between 12:00 Noon and 2:30 PM, affecting Pahroo, Kadlabal, HPCL Gas Plant, and the Auxiliary Line Wagoora Grid, disrupting supply to parts of Kadlabal, Pampore, and Pharoo.

KPDCL officials said the shutdowns are necessary for system improvement and preventive maintenance, and normal power supply will be restored immediately after the completion of works. The corporation has urged consumers to cooperate and bear with the temporary inconvenience.
