SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly witnessed a heated exchange on Saturday between Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo and PDP legislator Waheed Para during proceedings.
The confrontation escalated when Itoo blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the current political and administrative challenges in the Union Territory. “No power, no statehood is because of PDP,” she said, adding that the opposition should focus on working for the people rather than engaging in theatrics.
Itoo further criticized the PDP for the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370, holding the party responsible for governance issues that have affected the region since.
Taking aim at the opposition’s style of protest, the minister emphasized that her government believes in “action, not drama,” apparently referring to disruptions in the Assembly.
