Srinagar: Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo on Sunday launched a sharp attack on PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone, accusing them of being responsible for the hardships faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and saying they have no moral ground to criticise the present government.
Responding to criticism from Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti for “always targeting the government,” Itoo said, adding “I want to tell them, they have never been true sympathisers of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. When all these things were happening here, they themselves were ministers, it was their government. If today we are facing hardships, it is because of them.”
She added, “We once had a state of Jammu and Kashmir, which they got dissolved. We had special status, which they got abrogated. We had rights over land and jobs, and they snatched them all away.”
The minister further said that people have already rejected them. “They talked of chocolates and toffees while people were suffering, so the people rejected them and gave their mandate to Omar Abdullah-led National Conference. That is why their only job now is to oppose,” Itoo remarked. (KNC)
