Sakeena Itoo Distributes Relief Cheques to Fire-Hit Families

SRINAGAR: Relief cheques were distributed among fire-affected families in Langkhull Nandimarg of Kulgam district on Thursday, with Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, assuring both immediate and long-term support.

During her visit to the area, the Minister interacted with the victims, expressed solidarity and handed over financial assistance as part of short-term relief measures. She emphasised that the administration had been directed to ensure swift rehabilitation and timely delivery of aid so that families could begin rebuilding their lives.

Itoo stated that further steps would be taken to extend assistance under various government schemes, highlighting that the welfare of the people, particularly those struck by sudden calamities, remained a top priority of the Omar Abdullah-led government.

The Minister also directed officials to complete the damage assessment process without delay and ensure that no affected household was excluded from the relief ambit.
