SRINAGAR: Nearly 92 restoration projects worth Rs 9.84 crore have been initiated in Marh Constituency following the 2025 floods, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.

Replying to a question from Surinder Kumar, the Deputy Chief Minister said Rs 8.87 lakh under State Disaster Response Fund norms was disbursed to 90 affected families. He acknowledged the heavy losses suffered by residents and praised the district administration for swift assessment and relief measures.

Besides financial assistance, the affected families were provided with rations and essential supplies through the Indian Red Cross Society during the flood period.

Choudhary said the 92 restoration works, covering roads, bridges, water supply schemes, power infrastructure and other public facilities, are being executed under departments including PWD, PMGSY, JPDCL, PHE, JMC and local BDO offices across Mandal Phillian and Marh.

He added that most temporary restoration works have been completed, while other projects are in various stages of execution, with remaining works expected to be completed by July–August 2026.
