Sopore, Jun 23: Amid intense heatwave conditions, a massive crowd gathered at Chinar Stadium in Ambarpora to witness a thrilling finale of the Wular Cricket League 2025, where Royal Goodwill Cricket Club delivered a commanding performance to clinch the title with a massive 155-run victory over Muraad’s 7th Street Cricket Club.
As per a statement issued on Monday, the much-anticipated clash between Royal Goodwill Cricket Club and Muraad’s 7th Street Cricket Club lived up to the hype, ending with a commanding victory for Royal Goodwill.
The Royal Goodwill skipper won the toss and chose to bat first, a decision that paid off handsomely. Displaying remarkable composure and aggressive stroke play, the Royals set a towering target of 208 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Nasir Kumar led the charge with a solid 61 runs, Wahid Tali contributed 39 runs, Jahangir Lone delivered a fiery 36-run cameo and Ishtiyaq Rasool added a valuable 32 runs.
For Muraad’s side, Sameer Bell stood out with the ball, claiming 3 crucial wickets.
In response, Muraad’s 7th Street Cricket Club faltered under pressure and were dismissed for 58 runs in 11.3 overs. Only Sarsheel and Zahid Dar managed to reach double figures, scoring 12 runs each.
Ishtiyaq Rasool’s all-round brilliance earned him both the Player of the Final Match and the Player of the Tournament awards. He was honoured with an Anthem Bat and a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
The winning team received a trophy and Rs 1,50,000 in prize money, while the runners-up were awarded Rs 1,00,000.
The event concluded on a high note with Youth Leader of PDP and MLA Pulwama, Waheed Ur Rahman Para, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest and presenting the awards to the deserving players and teams.
