Srinagar, Aug 20: The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) has voiced serious concerns over the recent rotten meat scandal, urging immediate action and transparency from authorities.

Echoing these concerns, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi demanded answers from the Food Safety deptt and related agencies “How much rotten meat has already reached the Valley? Why were critical checkpoints such as Lakhanpur and Lower Munda not utilized to prevent contaminated supplies from entering our markets? What about the reports of the samples the department has already taken? Most importantly, why are the names of hotels and restaurants using this meat still being kept under wraps?”

Inam Un Nabi added: “This is more than a public health emergency, it’s a betrayal of consumer trust. The people of J&K deserve full transparency.

The public has a right to know which eateries compromised food safety. Authorities must stop shielding offenders under the guise of business confidentiality.”
