
SRINAGAR: A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of seven accused in the Red Fort blast case by 15 days, remanding them to jail till January 8.
Additional Sessions Judge Prashant Sharma passed the order after the accused were produced before the Patiala House Court. Those remanded include Dr Adeel Rather, Dr Muzammil Ganaie, Dr Shaheen Saeed, Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay, Jasir Bilal Wani, Amir Rashid Ali and Soyab.
The court noted that the accused are required to remain in judicial custody as investigations in the case are ongoing. No plea for bail was considered at this stage.
Earlier, three doctors — Dr Adeel Rather, Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Saeed — along with Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay, were sent to 12 days of judicial custody on December 12. Jasir Bilal Wani and Amir Rashid Ali were remanded to 14 days of judicial custody on December 10, while Soyab was placed under five days of judicial custody on December 19.
The Red Fort blast case pertains to an explosion reported near the historic monument, following which multiple arrests were made by the investigating agencies. Further proceedings in the matter are awaited as the probe continues.
