Srinagar: Authorities have demolished the residential house of Dr. Umar Nabi, the prime accused in the recent Red Fort blast, in Koil area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
News agency GNS quoted official sources as saying that the demolition was carried out during the intervening night using a controlled explosion. The action, they said, was part of the ongoing investigation and security measures following the deadly blast.
Dr. Umar Nabi, identified as the main conspirator, was reportedly seen driving a white i20 vehicle at the Red Fort moments before it exploded, resulting in the death of at least 13 people.
The blast drew sharp condemnation from the Union Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, during a high-level security meeting, denounced the incident as a cowardly act perpetrated by anti-national elements.
