
Rajouri, Mar 25: A young man from Rajouri district died after slipping and falling into a deep gorge at Dehra Ki Gali while on his way to Kashmir in search of livelihood, officials said on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Munshi Hussain, son of Mohammad Younis, a resident of Nagrota area in Rajouri district.
According to reports, Munshi Hussain was travelling in a passenger vehicle en route to Kashmir for work as a labourer and the vehicle reportedly halted briefly at Dehra Ki Gali, where the deceased stepped out and moved towards the roadside.
During that time, he allegedly slipped from a height and fell into a gorge, resulting in his death on the spot.
Police said that soon after the incident, a police team was rushed to the site and with the assistance of locals and Army personnel, the body was retrieved from the gorge.
Police officials stated that the body has been shifted to a nearby civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered, and further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.
