The advisory also warns of the possibility of flash floods, mudslides, and shooting stones in hilly terrain, urging residents and travellers to remain vigilant. Authorities have been asked to monitor river catchments and take precautionary measures in flood-prone regions.
From August 1 to 3, the weather is expected to shift to generally hot and humid conditions, with brief spells of rain or thundershowers at a few locations. A fresh spell of light to moderate rain is forecast between August 4 and 6.
The MeT department has urged people, especially those residing in hilly or flood-sensitive areas, to stay updated with local advisories and avoid travel through landslide-prone zones during periods of intense rainfall.
