‘Rail wire’ wi-Fi activated at major stations in Jammu division

Jammu, Feb 24: Jammu Railway Division has activated ‘Rail wire’ wi-fi facility 24X7 at all its major stations to bolster the digital payment system.

“Jammu Division is continuously striving to provide better convenience and travel comfort to its passengers. Currently, as directed by Vivek Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu Division, passengers are being encouraged to utilize “Rail wire” wi-fi, digital payments, and the “RailOne” app, which is continuously working to promote the vision of Digital India,” said Raghvender Singh, Public Relations Inspector, Jammu Railway Division.

“To provide passengers with high-speed internet access within the station premises, ‘Rail Wire’ Wi-Fi has been activated 24/7, at major railway stations in the Jammu Division, playing a vital role in digital payments,” he said.

Regarding digital payments, according to Singh, with the aim of promoting a cashless economy, digital payment modes (UPI, QR code, debit and credit cards) are being prioritised at ticket counters (PRS and UTS), parcel offices and food stalls.

“So that digital transactions can be smoothly implemented at every railway station in Jammu Division. Giving priority to the use of ‘Rail One’ app in Jammu division, passengers, local people and other educational institutions are being urged to prioritise the use of ‘Rail One’ app,” he stated.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Uchit Singhal, while detailing about the digital facilities available to passengers, said, “Jammu Division is fully committed to providing a modern, secure, technology-friendly travel experience to its esteemed passengers. Accelerating the ‘Digital India’ campaign, “Rail wire” high-speed wi-fi is being seamlessly deployed at all major stations in Jammu Railway Division to enable passengers from other states to access information and digital payments within the station premises.”
