Srinagar, Aug 25: The Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) will announce scholarships worth Rs 50 crore for students of Jammu and Kashmir during a grand Education Summit scheduled to be held in Srinagar on September 8.
This was revealed by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President PUCA and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura (near Chandigarh), while addressing a press conference at the Press Club of Kashmir today. Kataria said the initiative aims to support needy and deserving students of J&K in pursuing higher studies in Punjab-based colleges.
A statement said that around 20 renowned institutions from Punjab will participate in the summit, providing students with detailed information and guidance on academic opportunities across disciplines. The event is also expected to bring together nearly 200 education counsellors from across Jammu and Kashmir to assist students in career planning.
Prominent participating institutions include Aryans Group of Colleges (Chandigarh), Amritsar Group of Colleges, Amritsar College of Nursing, Akal College Mastuana Sahib, Ashoka Group of Institutions (Patiala), Bharat Group of Colleges (Sardulgarh), Global Group of Institutes (Amritsar), Golden Group (Gurdaspur), Gulzar Group of Colleges (Khanna), Jain Group of Institutions (Abohar), KC Group of Institutions (Nawashehar), Quest Group of Institutes (Jhanjeri), Saraswati Group of Colleges (Bathinda), SBS Group (Patti), Shiva Group (Himachal Pradesh), St. Mary’s Rehabilitation University (Hyderabad), Sukhjinder Group (Gurdaspur), SVIET Group (Rajpura), Universal Group of Institutions (Lalru), and Vidya Jyoti Eduversity (Derabassi).
The summit, according to PUCA, will provide a platform for aspiring students of J&K to explore higher education opportunities, interact with experts, and avail financial support through scholarships.
