
Srinagar | Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat on Monday released the provisional calendar for the sittings of the 5th Session of the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the calendar, a copy of which lies with Alfaaz – The Words, the session will commence on February 2, 2026 (Monday) with the Lieutenant Governor’s Address. This will be followed by a discussion on the Motion of Thanks on February 3 and 4, while February 5 has been earmarked for the discussion and the Lieutenant Governor’s reply.
The Annual Financial Statement (Budget) for 2026–27 along with the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2025–26 will be presented in the House on February 6. General discussion on the Budget is scheduled for February 7, 9 and 10, with the reply thereto on February 10.
The Assembly will take up Demands for Grants from February 11 to 13. February 8 has been declared a holiday, while February 14 will be observed as an off day.
Further legislative business includes the passage of Appropriation Bills on March 27, followed by Government Business on March 28. March 29 has been marked as a holiday. Private Members’ Bills and Private Members’ Resolutions are scheduled for March 30 and 31 respectively.
In April 2026, Private Members’ Bills will be taken up on April 1, followed by Private Members’ Resolutions on April 2. April 3 (Good Friday) will be observed as a holiday, while Government Business is scheduled for April 4.
