Property Of Drug Peddler Attached in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have attached the property of a drug peddler under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

According to a police statement, the attached property valued at approximately rupees 65 lakhs, was in the possession of Farooq Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, a resident of Zadoora, Mirbazar. The attached property comprises a single-storey residential building measuring 850 sq. ft. along with 12 marlas of land, located in Zadoora, Mirbazar, under Khewat No 3.

Mir is involved in two separate NDPS cases, FIR No. 85/2020 registered at Police Station Mattan under Sections 8, 15, and 29 of the NDPS Act, and FIR No. 104/2025 at Police Station Qazigund under Sections 8 and 15 of the same Act, reads the police statement.

Under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, proceedings were initiated by the competent authority to attach the property, which is believed to have been acquired through proceeds of narcotic trafficking, statement further reads.
