Professor Of Practice (Law) Vacancy Notification

The University of Kashmir has issued Advertisement Notice No. 13 of 2025 dated 27 December 2025 for the engagement of a Professor of Practice in the Department of Law for the academic year 2026–27 (Spring–Autumn Session).

Applications are invited on plain paper from interested and eligible experts who have made remarkable contributions in the area of Law. The engagement and eligibility will strictly follow the UGC Guidelines for engaging Professor of Practice, which are available on the University website.

Candidates must ensure that they meet the age condition and eligibility norms before applying. All applications are to be submitted in hard copy only within the notified dates.

Eligibility Criteria for Professor of Practice Post

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility conditions as per UGC Guidelines for engaging Professor of Practice:

• Candidates should be distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in the field of Law.
• They should normally have at least 15 years of professional experience, preferably at a senior level.
• Formal academic qualifications are not mandatory if the applicant has exemplary professional practice.
• The position is not open to those in the teaching profession, whether serving or retired.
• Maximum age must be less than 64 years, preferably below 62 years.

The candidates should also possess the skills to perform academic duties such as contributing to curriculum development, teaching and mentoring.

Applications are to be submitted in hard copy only.

• Submit an application on plain paper along with a detailed CV.
• The CV must clearly list all contributions, achievements and supporting enclosures.
• The documents should be properly bounded.
• The application should be submitted personally or sent through Speed Post/Registered Post to the Office of the Recruitment, New Administrative Block, University Campus, Hazratbal, Srinagar-190006, J&K.
• The envelope must be superscribed with “Application for the post of Professor of Practice, Advertisement Notice No. 13 of 2025”.
• Applications received after the last date may be rejected without notice.

Candidates are advised to ensure timely submission if sending by post.
