Rajouri, Jan 18: The Private Schools Association, Rajouri has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Government and the School Education Department to take comprehensive and student-friendly measures to ease the examination pattern for the current academic year in view of repeated disruptions in schooling.

Addressing the media, Association President Mohammad Rouf Dar, along with Lokesh Bakshi, Kanav Badyal and other office bearers, said that the academic session 2025–26 has been severely affected due to frequent closures of educational institutions.

They pointed out that schools in the district remained shut for months at a stretch owing to the prevailing situation following Operation Sindoor, spells of heavy rainfall and now prolonged closures due to inclement winter weather.

The speakers expressed concern that the disrupted teaching schedule has left a significant portion of the syllabus incomplete.

“Nearly two-fifths of the prescribed syllabus of various classes is still pending, while annual examinations are fast approaching,” they said, adding that this has caused anxiety among students, parents and teachers alike.

The Association appealed to the government to announce a special examination schedule for this academic year and to grant suitable relaxation to students by curtailing the syllabus.

They emphasised that such steps are essential to ensure a fair evaluation process and to safeguard the academic interests and mental well-being of students who have suffered due to circumstances beyond their control.

They hoped that the School Education Department would consider their genuine concerns and take timely decisions in the larger interest of the student community.
