Pre-Dawn Blaze Guts Five Houses in Srinagar | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A major fire erupted in the pre-dawn hours at Shalla Kadal in Srinagar’s Habba Kadal area, destroying at least five residential houses and causing extensive property damage.

Firefighters rushed to the spot from multiple stations, including Headquarters, SH Pora Maharaj Gunj, and Babdemb, after the State Fire Control Room in Batamaloo received an emergency call. By the time teams arrived, several houses in the densely packed locality were already engulfed in flames.

The fire spread rapidly due to the closely built structures, with multiple gas cylinder explosions further intensifying the blaze and complicating firefighting efforts.

After sustained efforts, the fire was eventually brought under control, preventing it from spreading to more structures.

Meanwhile, Police have taken cognisance of the incident and registered a case.
