Power Shutdown Scheduled in Parts of South Kashmir for Maintenance Works

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in various areas of South Kashmir to facilitate branch cutting and tree pruning along 33KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, the shutdown will affect multiple 33/11KV Receiving Stations and associated areas on June 26 and June 28, 2025. The power supply will remain suspended from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the scheduled days.

June 26 Shutdown Schedule:

  • 33KV Wanpoh–Sarnal Line: Receiving stations at Harnag, Nai Basti, Sarnal, Anchidora, and Akura will remain off. Affected areas include Khanabal, Sarnal, Lazibal, Dak Bungalow, Qazigund, and Mattan Chowk.
  • 33KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora–Dialgam Tap Line: Receiving station at Dialgam will remain off, affecting Dialgam and adjoining areas.
  • 33KV Lisser–Kokernag Line: Receiving stations at Kokernag and Dandipora will remain off. Power supply to Kokernag, Dandipora, Sagam, Vailoo and nearby areas will be affected.
  • 33KV Pattan–Amargarh Line (Hygam): Shutdown is required for the installation of a 33KV isolator at Hygam. Receiving stations at Farm Fresh, Bulgam, Flour Mill, and Hygam will remain off, affecting the power supply to the respective areas.

June 28 Shutdown Schedule:

  • 33KV Lisser–Aarkoshipora Tap Line: Receiving station at Aarkoshipora will remain off. Affected areas include Aarkoshipora and adjoining localities.
  • 33KV Lisser–Dooru Line: Receiving stations at Dooru, Verinag, Chowgund, and Toll Post will remain off. Areas to face outages include Dooru, Verinag, Hiller, Lower Munda, Sadiwara, and surrounding regions.
  • 33KV Mattan–Achabal Line: Receiving stations at Achabal, Shangus, and Cherpora will remain off. Power supply will be affected in Achabal, Shangus, Nowgam, Cherpora, Uteersoo, and adjoining areas.
  • 33KV Pattan–Amargarh Line (Hygam): The same line will also undergo shutdown on June 28 to continue isolator installation work, impacting Farm Fresh, Bulgam, Flour Mill, and Hygam areas.

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements and cooperate with the authorities to ensure smooth execution of the maintenance works. KPDCL stated that the shutdown is essential for maintaining safety and uninterrupted power supply in the long term.
