Rajouri, March 7: Dr Koh-e-Safa, a tribal woman from the Mendhar subdivision of Poonch district, has scripted a remarkable success story by qualifying for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

A doctor by profession, Dr Koh-e-Safa said her long-standing passion for public service became the foundation of her success in one of the country’s most competitive examinations.

Her father, Mehmood Chowdhary, is a Principal District and Sessions Judge currently posted in Shopian, while her mother is a doctor serving in Jammu.

Dr Koh-e-Safa completed her schooling from private educational institutions in Jammu before qualifying for the MBBS programme. She later successfully graduated in medical sciences.

“Right from my school days, I had a dream and passion to join the civil services,” Dr Koh-e-Safa said.

To pursue this goal, she began preparing for the Civil Services Examination after completing her medical graduation and continued her preparation largely from home.

She credited her family for playing a crucial role in her journey, saying that the unwavering support of her parents and two siblings served as a constant source of motivation and guidance.

Dr Koh-e-Safa said their encouragement helped her stay focused and determined while preparing for the prestigious examination.
