Police seize 6 vehicles involved in illegal mining activities in Ganderbal

Srinagar, Mar 29: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ganderbal today seized 06 vehicles for illegal extraction of minerals in the jurisdiction of PS Safapora, PS Lar and PS Gund.

As per the statement, the seized vehicles were found extracting and transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, the vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.

J&K Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities in the district and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. They added that strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.
