
Jammu, Sep 9: Police have registered a case against the Pak intruder arrested by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on the R S Pura International Border on September 7, 2025.
“Police Station R S Pura registered a case FIR No 189/2025 under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. The accused is presently in custody, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the motive behind the infiltration attempt,” police said.
Earlier, the Border Security Force (BSF) foiled an infiltration attempt along the Indo-Pak International Border in the R S Pura sector during the intervening night of September 7 and 8, 2025.
“Alert BSF troops apprehended a Pakistani intruder at the International Border (IB), who had tried to cross over under suspicious circumstances. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the 165th Battalion BSF at BOP Octroi, Suchetgarh, in the R S Pura Sector, opposite Pakistan’s BOP Inayat,” police said.
“When BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement near the border fence. Acting swiftly, the troops apprehended the intruder, identified as Siraaj Khan, son of Zahid Khan, resident of Satai, tehsil Bhalwal, district Sargodha, Pakistan. During the operation, both sides exchanged approximately 35 rounds of firing. Despite the exchange of fire, no casualties or damage were reported on the Indian side, owing to the vigilance and preparedness of the BSF troops,” police stated.
A police spokesperson said that the timely action by the BSF and coordination with local police once again reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to safeguard the nation’s borders and foil any nefarious designs from across the border.
“Jammu Police urges citizens living in border areas to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to strengthen the collective security grid,” the spokesperson said.
A day after the intruder was arrested, PRO BSF Jammu stated, “On September 7, 2025, at about 9.10 pm, BSF troops observed suspicious movement wherein a Pak national was observed crossing the IB and approaching aggressively towards the border fence in tehsil Suchetgarh, Jammu. He was warned by alert troops, but he paid no heed.”
He said that BSF troops, sensing a threat, fired on him.
“He was taken into BSF custody. Later on, during questioning, he revealed his identity. During the search, Pak currency was recovered from him. He has been handed over to police. A protest is being lodged with the counterpart,” PRO BSF said.
