Police Recover Stolen Mobile, Arrest Accused in Theft Case

SRINAGAR: Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore have solved a theft case involving a mobile handset reported stolen from Mawer Handwara.

The complaint was lodged at Police Post Bus Stand, prompting the registration of FIR No. 203/2025 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sopore. During the investigation, Sadiq Ahmad Ganie, son of the late Bashir Ahmad Ganie of Hathishah Tarzoo, was summoned for questioning.

Officials said the accused confessed to the theft during sustained questioning and led police to the recovery of the stolen mobile handset. Further investigation is ongoing to ascertain any additional involvement.

Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their commitment to swift action and safeguarding public property, assuring that offenders will be brought to justice promptly.
