
SRINAGAR: Police on Sunday recovered 40 rounds of AK-47 ammunition from a shop in Tangdar area of north Kashmir’s Karnah subdivision and arrested the shopkeeper, sources said.
As per sources, a police team searched for a shop in Tangdar during the day and recovered the ammunition from the possession of Naseer Ahmad Baba (26), son of Bashir Ahmad Baba, a resident of Gomal Tangdar, who runs his business near SDH Tangdar.
The accused was taken into custody on the spot and subsequently shifted to Police Station Karnah for further questioning, they added.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. More details are expected to follow. (KNC)
