Police Nab Culprit in South Kashmir Burglary

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag have solved a theft case reported from Shatroo village in Larnoo within two days, recovering stolen property and arresting the accused.

Police said a complaint was lodged at Police Station Larnoo by Meena Banoo, wife of Mohd Abass Wagay, alleging that copper utensils had been stolen from her residence on August 9 during midday hours. A case, FIR No. 29/2025, was registered under relevant sections of law, and an investigation was launched.

The probe, led by SHO Larnoo, DySP (Prob.) Atti-Ur-Rehman, utilised intelligence inputs and field resources to trace the culprit. The stolen utensils were recovered, and the accused — identified as Arif Ahmad Wani, son of Ab Khaliq Wani, a resident of Shatroo — was apprehended.
