Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday organised daylong ‘Thana Diwas’ programmes at Police Post Kralpora and Police Station Lalpora in the Lolab area of Kupwara district, aimed at enhancing police-public engagement and addressing local concerns.
The programmes were presided over by IPS officer Vikas Gupta, Incharge SHO Sogam, along with DySP Headquarters Kupwara Mubashir Ahmad. The events witnessed active participation from a large number of respectable citizens, traders, civil society members, and representatives of Auqaf Committees.

Addressing the gatherings, the officers assured that all genuine grievances would be taken up with the district administration for timely action. They reiterated the police’s commitment to extending full legal support wherever required for the welfare of society.
Highlighting the significance of such initiatives, the officers said that ‘Thana Diwas’ provides a valuable platform for strengthening police-public relations and channelising public suggestions effectively. They further assured that similar outreach programmes would continue in the future.
Among others present were SHO Lalpora Showkat Ahmad, SHO Kuligam, SI Gh. Nabi, former PRI members, traders, and other prominent citizens.
