
Baramulla, Aug 30: The Range Police Headquarters, Baramulla, organised a one-day “Awareness-cum-Training Workshop on Financial Implementation Protocols” at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla, under the aegis of the financial unit of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The event was chaired by Shakeel Maqbool, ICAS (Internal Financial Advisor, J&K Home), along with his resource team, who delivered in-depth instructions to participants.
The workshop was attended by senior police officers, including DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood-ul-Zaman and SSP Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh, whose presence underscored the significance of financial governance and compliance in police operations.
Participants included all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) representing units of the Home Department across the North Kashmir Range. Attendees came from district offices, armed battalions, police training centres, prosecution department, jail administration, and fire and emergency services. The DDOs were joined by their supporting staff, including GeM operators, assistants, and contingency clerks, ensuring an inclusive and functional approach.
The session provided practical training on core aspects of departmental financial management. Participants were briefed on standardised billing procedures, payment protocols, and effective auditing practices. The interactive format allowed for detailed discussions that emphasised accuracy & transparency at every stage — from billing to disbursement to financial audit.
By strengthening these foundational processes, the workshop sought to improve financial compliance, enhance audit readiness, and ensure efficient resource management across different wings of the Home Department. The initiative reaffirmed the department’s commitment to financial accountability and good governance in day-to-day operations, the statement said.
