SRINAGAR: Police in Sopore have solved a theft case within 24 hours of its reporting, arresting the accused and recovering stolen property valued at nearly Rs 50,000.

According to officials, Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from Syed Salah Ud Din, Manager of Shadowfax Logistics at Ashpeer Sopore, alleging the theft of mobile phones. The case was registered under FIR No 272/2025, and the investigation began immediately.

During the probe, officers examined multiple suspects before identifying one individual as the primary suspect. The accused, Afaq Ahmad Ahanger, son of Suna Ullah Ahanger and a resident of Amberpora Tarzoo Sopore, was detained for questioning. Police said he admitted to involvement in the theft.

Following his disclosure, a police team recovered the stolen items, estimated to be worth around Rs 50,000.

Police said the case demonstrates their focus on swift investigation and timely action to safeguard public property. Further investigation is underway.
